In the late 90s I started a clothing company called Useless — because people kept asking why I was still riding those "useless BMX bikes." I didn't have a good answer, so I printed shirts instead. We sponsored riders, made three videos, and kept it going for a few years. Here's my section from the first one. Fair warning: it's on VHS, so it's pretty much useless.

Every year we look forward to the Richmond BMX Flat Pedal Pro-Am race! They are going on year 9 for this one of a kind BMX race. It pits pros and amateurs together in a race where you can only use flat pedals. No clipping in!
